Well, haven't heard any other song by him, so I shouldn't comment on his technical ability, but the skills portrayed in that video is not too hard.

His songwriting/composition on the other hand, is damned beautiful. Couldn't do that in 5, 10 years.

Man, that is amazing. I always wondered why I haven't seen anyone using that particular... Technique. I don't know if I misinterpret miserably, but isn't he strumming or tapping with his left hand, on other strings than his right hand?

yups. hes using (more or less) 8 finger tapping. means he's playing by only tapping on the strings using both hands. mostly right hand is for the lower stings (playing bass/rhythm riffs), left hand is for melody on the higher strings.

there is an guitar player that plays only by tapping on the strings. his name is stanley jordan (yeah he plays electric :-P). he doesnt pick them at all. in this live version, he plays 2 guitars at the same time. 1guitar the rhythm (chords) 1guitar playing melody/solos :)

If you haven't heard of Andy McKee, check him out on YouTube, he has many songs more incredible to watch than this. Ebon Coast is my personal favorite by him to listen to. He plays on some acoustics guitars I never knew existed before. He is one of the most astonishing acoustic players I've ever seen.

I've heard him numerous of times before.

He's astonishingly good, although he does not hit me much on an emotional scale.
