Brocas Helm deliver with the title track to the 1988 underground metal classic Black Death:


Brocas Helm is a classic band that blends in a variety of influences and sometimes less than serious lyrical concepts. Brilliant.

The title track Cirith Ungol's 1984 album King of the Dead:


Cirith Ungol never made it big, but their music still sends chills down my spine.

I love Riot, and had to post this because they went through so many changes over their career.

Attacker's "The Hermit" from their 1985 debut, Battle at Helm's Deep:


Don't be fooled by the awful album cover. Attacker is one of New Jersey's finest bands.

Maybe heavy metal's finest moment, "Beyond the Realms of Death" from Judas Priest's Stained Class:


Judas Priest's first four albums pretty much set all the standards for heavy metal to come afterwards.
