I feel pretty much the same way. Certain lyrics do more then tell a story, they cut through me and elevate thoughts I don't express, everything from anger to complete content. Amplified by a good riff or a complicated melody/calming melody I usually get lost in music. All genre's are good for me but I often gravitate towards music that "takes me to a darker place" without literally Going there.
