If you still go to local brick-and-mortar record stores, there's usually a rack where they have flyers for upcoming shows, 'specially in the smaller, indie record shops.

Though, I don't know what the areas around Henderson / UNLV are like, in terms of "college town shopping / record stores."

Hm. If I recall, there's a free publication you have out there, similar to the L.A. Weekly out here. It might even be called Las Vegas Weekly. Should have a club section, listing local venues and upcoming shows.

I started using SongKick.com!

It works for me, you type in either a local venue and it'll generate a list of their shows. or you can type in a band and it'll generate their shows.

Sometimes it doesnt list all of them though, so sometimes it's a good idea to visit venue websites or band facebook pages.

..and Fyi. If a band has lesser than 5kish likes on facebook, they probably aren't going to leave their home state or just tour the surrounding states. Just an idea for you. D:

Last.fm pretty much and facebook (i get invited to shows).

You could use Ticketmaster and just narrow your results to your city and music.

I check with the venues around where I live.
