Rap: Someone talks into a microphone with some rhythm saying the same 40 words that everyone has already say before and uses in every fucking song. Most rappers can only do it because they use the word "ni**a" which helps make a rhyme eayser. Generaly the rap is to a beat that some person has put into a computer and spit out taking hardly any skill to no skill, anyone can get a set of turn tables and make one of those beats. Rappers also try to get famous off of "dissing" other people.. which is just the most retarded and lamest way to on to charts.
Metal: Growel/Grunt/Pig squeal... not easy to do. Lyrics are generaly based on people who dont exist, so theres no "beefs" started and there for no drama in the metal music industry.. Which is good. I dont like it when people are bitching and complaining about other people, its fucking annoying. alot of lyrics i listen to are about murder and killing people... but alot of music i listen to is empowering to ones self and i believe helps build character. Also with metal the band has to be pretty in synce with each other, members have to be able to understand how a song should sound to the lyrics, or the vocalist has to be able to get the vocals to go with the drums/guitars,That takes much skill. For 4 or 5 people to sit down and make a song thats all in synce and is brutal but still is so harmonious is amazing to me.
Why i like metal: Its complicated, theres so many layers to it to listen to.. you have drums you can focus on, or the guitars or the vocals.. or you can listen to it as a whole. I like the brutality of it, it calms me down when im pissed off, or it charges me up when im tiered or when i just woke up.. theres nothing that wakes me up better then listening to some metal, weather its loud or turned down low.. it helps me wake up in the morning. Metal is my therapy, as dumb as that sounds... but im sure that metalheads who read this wall of text will agree. I really can get sick of listening to metal, i listen to metal hours everyday, if i want something brutal, then i put on brutal death metal or death metal if i want something thats foot tapy i put on melodic death metal, if i want slow and brutal i put on slamming brutal death, if i want something really technical i put on technical death metal... theres always some type of metal that i want to listen to. I used to listen to rap, i was very angry at the world and angry at myself. When i started listening to metal about 5 years ago it all changed, metalheads dont judge you.. they dont care how you dress or what you look like. Its a brother hood and i have respect for any metalhead. Its more then just music to me, its a way of life. And when you find a new band that you havent heard before, theres a sensation thats hard to describe... its like finding another peice of yourself.

Most metal tracks consist of two guitar parts, a bass track, a drum track, and a vocal track, right?
If so, and if you think that's a lot of layers, then you're really missing out.
That being said, I'm not saying you shouldn't like metal, but if you want complexity and detail, you can find more elsewhere.
Also,
if you think producing music on a computer is easy, I invite you to download Ableton and get to work.
