They fit acoustic chords together really well - VM of their songs are well layered, have good patterns and fit together well and the main point, it's easy sounding on the ears.

Song writing is more than just lyrics dude, it's about how the songs fit together and build - something Nickelback do well. Granted, their sound and songs are not for everyone - but from my point of view, learning Nickelback really helped my acoustic playing - so i don't have a problem with them.
