EDC got moved cuz the officials couldnt come to an agreement with insomniac (the company), so they moved the massive from LA to Vegas.

throwing it at a way bigger venue in vegas

I wouldn't consider it abuse to go to a show tripping. I would LOVE to see Shpongle or Infected while tripping. Only if Infected plays their old stuff though, their new stuff would probably throw me in a bad way.
