Ok, this is a jazz guitar album by Grant Green called "Ballads". It is not his best album (in my opinion "Idle Moments" is, which I also recommend) but it is definitely a staple for anyone interested in jazz.

Okay, so I'll make up for the fact that I forgot this thread existed this week lol.

Anyway, this is a classic album that isn't very well known for whatever reason. It is very Hendrixesque, to use a pretentious qualifier, and if you like blues guitar you'll love this album.

This next album is a jazz album with four lengthy compositions on it. It is definitely a contender or my all-time favorite jazz album although if you don't listen to jazz much it may be hard to get into (I didn't think it was that great on my first listen). It is also considered a classic, I believe, although I haven't seen it discussed much in the past here.

This is one of the few metal albums that I've listened to that has consistently held up from beginning to end. I understand there is a lot of Opeth hate on this board but this album is a very good piece of progressive death metal that incorporates a lot of acoustic and mellow singing as well as jazz elements, even in songs with death growls and awesome guitarwork.

I consider this to be Opeth's best album, by a wide, wide margin and probably one of the best albums ever made (srs).

Download it, buy it, whatever just listen to it.

Got some cool hip-hop that is actually made available as a free download on last.fm (I'll include a link at the bottom of this post).

Also he has a song where he samples Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive! That's reason enough to get this.
