Production techniques used in the 90's are outdated now and I actually prefer that style when it comes to Metal anyways. Very much a subjective phrase, "outdated". Some see it as old, some see it as vintage, all depends on you. I think the synths you're referring to are the ones littered throughout 80's pop/rock/glam metal and the such. Many synths from the 80's are still used today, in modern music production. Hell, I'd kill to have a few synths from the 80's, but I'd prefer 70's if I was going vintage, I suppose.

It all depends on what music you like. If you're into pop then surely nothing can be as bad as the last 10 years. Fucking diabolical.

anything from 2005+ fucking horrible music. i thought late 90s were kinda bad but listenin to shit nowadays are much worse...

The 90s was actually fairly good in terms of music. Definitely an improvement on the 80s, which were by far the worst.
