So I figured, since glitch hop is kinda hard to come by these days (if you're not Australian!) I'd open up a thread.
Post away, let's just not try to get too much dubstep involved!

Thank you very much.

I went to high school with this guy, David. He's a couple years younger but he's a much better producer than I am. I am in awe of his work. I think he recently hit #1 on the Glitch Hop charts on Beatport. He had like 3 tracks in the top 10, he's quite good at this music shpeel. Much love and respect to DCarls!

when i got into what was labeled glitch/glitchop in the early 2000's, it was stuff like Prefuse 73, edIT, some autchere, funkstorung, dabrye, and daedelus and was more interchangable with "IDM". the sound now is more like 90bpm dubstep, to me. not feelin it. a lot of it doesnt feel as natural and the sounds are really recycled and played out. had a friend that did a show on glitch.fm and he'd get some cool tunes here and there but never anything particularly jaw dropping...it really just felt like a repacking of bad dubstep for people who wanted to separate themselves from the dubstep scene. i might be hyper-critical or maybe ive just been exposed to the wrong glitch-hop artists (mimosa, stephen jacobs, love&light, glitch mob, ben samples, etc)

sorry to be negative

maybe my opinion is based on my peers that dj'd glitch-hop...they always bitched about brostep...but would then play aggro/synth heavy tunes that the average listener wouldnt be able to tell wasn't dubstep.
