Anybody familiar with the genre? I am looking for albums similar to Comus' album First Utterance, which is the best I've found as far as freak folk goes. Forum gold for albums that I enjoy.

Current 93, atleast albums All The Pretty Horses, Of Ruine or Some Blazing Starre, Thunder Perfect Mind

You might enjoy, Renaissance, the earlier albums, but they may be more progressive



Try Cocorosie, they might be what your looking for they do eerie kind of folk music.
And some of Animal Collective is similar.

First Utterance might be my favorite album, I'd say it's closer to Acid Folk and maybe Psychedelic Folk than Freak Folk.
