Probably a thread somewhere but I'm lazy.

I'll be adding the stuff I listen to from this point and adding stuff as I feel like it randomly.

EDIT -- Most of my ratings will be in the 3.5-4.5 range. I generally just separate music in terms of "worth listening to" and "not worth listening to" with rare albums standing out on both ends (although I rarely hear an album I don't like).

It's for those of us cool enough to use both.

Also, I want to ask since I seem to be the only person on the Internet who doesn't appreciate the Velvet Underground -- what's the deal with that band? I never understood why it is the greatest thing ever or how it can even be in the same discussion as other incredible albums (I'm referring primarily to their first release here).

Secondly, Trout Mask Replica. I don't understand why it is so good. It seems like avant-garde for avant-garde's sake.

Most people on there don't even listen to full albums, let alone evaluate how good they are. As Kamahl said, we have both.

Last.fm is deceiving. My highest played artist on last.fm hasn't put out the best albums.

right okay i get the general concept. But seriously, music taste and quality is mostly an opinion, not a fact. Obviously Rebecca Black's music is of a way lower quality than, i dunno, Opeth for example, but seriously, how do you rate music? On what criteria?
