So, I just decided to give in to all the hype about these shows and go back and watch them.
I started with Six Feet Under. Got 8 episodes in to Season 1 and decided to give up. Show was really boring. And it was hard for me to see Michael C. Hall (Dexter) getting fucked by a 6'5 Black Guy. Does this show ever get better or have I pretty much summed up what's not to like about the rest of the series?
Then, Lost. I got 4 episodes in to Season 1. Semi-Interested. Hard to stay interested with all the terrible acting so far. The only person I am interested in at this point is Lock. Everyone else can die as far as I care. I know everything says this show gets better, but at least tell me the acting and writing gets better, because so far it's pretty awful in my opinion.
Now, The Shield. FUCKING AMAZING SHOW. 2 Episodes in and loving every minute of it. The show has me at full attention during every scene. That first episode? WOW. Best pilot in TV history??? Maybe not better than the Newsroom. But, for the time that show had to have the crown.
My question is, are either of the other 2 shows worth going back to or are they lost on me?
Just for fun and in no particular order, my top 10 favorite shows in the history of TV, drama series.
1. The Sopranos
2. Homeland
3. Dexter
4. The Newsroom
5. The Walking Dead
6. Deadwood
7. Boardwalk Empire
8. The Wire
9. Breaking Bad
10. The Shield (This will surely be here.)
