So this is basically it.
I live in Canada, in the Ottawa area.
I have roughly $1200 CAD To spend on a new tv.
Basically the tv will be used for two things
1) gaming.
2) streaming off a media server.
TBH I know little to nothing about HDTV and I don't wanna get suckered by some sales douchebag on a commission.
So I have no clue what I should be looking for
So far from browsing some stores I have noticed the following
For price , Samsung tv's appear to have a better picture quality
All plasma tv's I saw I can see my reflection 10x more then on a LCD TV, so since I don't play in the dark, I would most likely want an LCD.

-=edit=- I also tried various sites , kijiji , usedottawa, and usually they are a source of students who spend all their tuition loans on cool toys and realize what living in the real world is like so need to sell them for a quick buck. However 99% of the used tv's i see people are asking almost exactly what they paid >.>
