i read it in a novel, but the answer wasnt provided.. and its got me kinda heated

there are 3 women, 2 of them are blindfolded, one is blind.
a man walks in with 5 hats. 3 blue ones and 2 pink ones.
he puts a hat on each of the three girls there, and then hides the remaining 2 hats.
he then removes the blindfold from girl 1. and asks if she can tell by looking at the other two girls, if she knows wat color hat she is wearing.
she doesnt know.
he removes the blindfold from girl 2. and asks the same question to her. she doesnt know either.

he approaches girl 3, who is blind. and asks if she knows wat color hat she is wearing.
her brow furrows as she thinks.. and then clarity sweeps her face smooth.

wat does she say?

she says "IDK IM BLIND"

I think that the question "what does she say?" could be anything.

She is Only blind in one eye so she look at the other two girls and they are wearing Two pink hats. So she figures out that She must be wearing the blue hat.

Also when you say two are blind folded, one is blind are you saying that one of the blind folded girls was blind or that the one who wasn't blind folded was blind?

It doesnt mention if they really sees what colors the hats are before or if he tells them, but cuz of ur writing etc i take it for sure that they know how many of each color etc it exists...

the the hats that are removed can be ; 2 blue, 2 pink, 1 blue & 1 pink ...

The only way to know for sure what color you got is to see 2 pink hats on the other 2 heads...

So, if girl 1 can't say which color it means that she DOESNT sees 2 pink which gives --- 2 blue or 1 blue and 1 pink.
Girl 2 can't say which color she has got.. ----- 2 blue or 1 blue 1 pink

This gives some different scenarios;

Girl 1. She sees 2 blue hats ---- this means that he could have taken away 2 pink hats OR 1 pink and 1 blue
She sees 1 pink & blue --- means he could have taken away 1 pink & blue OR 2 blue

If she sees 2 blue hats, the 2nd girl cant see 2 blue... that means that she can only see 1 blue 1 pink or 2 pink , and we can take away 2 pink cuz then she would know that she has a blue... so girl 2 sees 1 blue & pink...cuz she doesnt know.

In this case the blind girl thinks; there must be 2 blue and 1 pink or 3 blue hats on our heads. -- --- she cant decide

If she sees 1 blue & 1 pink, the 2nd girl can see 2 blue or 1 pink and 1 blue.. this makes the scenario for the blind girl

and the blind girl thinks; there must be 2 pinks and 1 blue or 2 blue och 1 pink on our heads.

But she cant really say what color she has got on her head.. cuz she cant see anything and it doesnt give that much info either...

SHE CAN SAY that it's highest possibilty that she has a blue hat she can say that it is 2/3 chance that she has got a blue hat

she says that it exists 4 possiblitys;

---------- 1--- 2--- 3 ----4
GIRL 1 blue blue blue pink
GIRL 2 blue blue pink pink
BLIND blue pink blue blue


this must be the correct answer... it's impossible to tell the color
