I just installed an old alpine system I purchased a few years ago: I have the good old type s 6^1/2" woofers that came with something (black box) extra for each speaker. (i did not do the installation!) Alpine head/2 tweeters front door mount/2 tweeters rear facing passenger mount/ 2x 6 ^1/2" woofers in front doors. as well as 2x 6^1/2" woofers in rear. There is an alpine v series amp sending out to all woofers.
I'm thinking about purchasing a 10" OR 12" Alpine woofer in a single box. Should it be ported? Which alpine subs should I look into?
as well as what type of power source should I go about purchasing? However I saw a nice Type r 12" woofer with a max of 1500 w. What size amp is required? 1 channel?
