i can't believe that Black Sabbath isnt even in the top three. If there was no Black Sabbath, there would be no heavy metal. in 1969 Ozzy Osbourne, Bill ward, Geezer Buttler and Toni Iommi formed a new band, derived from the band 'Earth'. this is probably the best idea that was made in the 60's and it shows. every single metal and heavy metal band now quotes Black Sabbath as a main inspiration in music. The first song the ever made:
Title: Black Sabbath
Album: Black Sabbath
Artist: Black sabbath
Year: 1969
Someone else would have done it if they hadn't of done it. They were great but it would have happened sooner or later. I think Death is the most original. Not a band that should be included in that list but in 1983 he let lose with Death Metal. I think Death Metal was more shocking in '83 than Black Sabbath was in '69. Just personal opinion though...I wasn't alive in either of those dates.
I picked the Beatles, they are my favorite band.
I'm shocked that The Rolling Stones are in last place...If they had just released Paint it Black and quit making music they would have still been 10 times better than Metallica. That's just one of many great hits.
Love The Doors and The Who too.
