Except Death and Morbid Angel are awesome

Immortal has some OK material, I'll give them that.

However, Bathory is one of those bands that everyone seems to think is godly just because he created something new. So the fuck what. It's not like it never would've been done if he didn't do it, that's obvious by all the other bands that came within the next year or two. Same thing with Burzum, it's that influential fanboy crap that's pissing me off. His ambient cd's were OKAY. There is much better stuff out there, but it seems most people into Burzum don't even like other ambient bands! Mayhem I've never really liked, just my preferance. I also haven't encountered any fanboys to piss me off about them, so that might help. Same with Darkthrone.

Their only weak albums are Damned in Black and Blizzard Beasts, the rest are all gg.

yeah well I'd also say the first one, Pure holocaust, Battles in the north and At the heart of winter are great although the latter is more like thrash/black
