They generally can't come up with any good reasons why the film is bad because the filming/music/settings/overlying concepts are all excellent
So they end up saying stuff like 'it was too obvious who the bad guys were' or 'the story has been done before'......I can only come to conclusion that they have no idea about fantasy movies/literature
I guess its just hipster people who don't like being told what's the best so look for any reasons to fight it
I liked it, but the pacing and length was too long. When the tree is lit up, you feel like the movie is at its climax. It makes the next 1/2 hour long battle feel underwhelming. There's a bunch of scenes that could have been cut entirely or reduced in length. Scenes like Jake finding a pterodactyl didn't add to the plot.
