I own a 52" samsung smart TV

Cons
I strongly don't recommend a Samsung smart TV, the remote controls are delayed, especially so when used in its smart TV apps. It got very annoying very quickly The delays are about 3 seconds so it is quite severe and it doesnt even have dvi input, just the HDMI

Pros
On the bright side the Tv image is clear and sharp.

Overall, the TV is nice, the smart feature is denitiely its own downfall. Wouldn't recommend a smart TV

Pretty much any tv on the market right is is a smart tv.

F you have a smart tv from several years ago, the processors were pretty poor and yes, there is lag on the smart tv homepage and browsing.

With that said, there shouldn't be an issue with current model years, unless you get an extremely low grade tv (all manufacturers sell low grades, know what you're buying before you purchase).

I use my ps4 for Netflix, it's better than any tv of any grade or brand.

Search Google for "Samsung Netflix NW-4-8". You'd be surprised what you come up with. And these aren't old, or low-end units, either.

That's a software problem that can be fixed, not a hardware problem.

The problem also isnt limited to Samsung or just tvs.

It is when, in about 10-15% of the cases, the issue is no certificate on the unit, and the main board has to be replaced to resolve.

It's a software issue.

Also, you must have missed the part where I said this isn't just Samsung, nor is it just tvs....

Yes it's software, but it becomes more than that when you have to replace the MAIN BOARD in the TV to fix the problem. And for those that don't require a main board swap, the regular fixes involve going into the service menu of the TV, something that the average user isn't going to know how to do, and would be just as likely to screw something up in the TV as they would to actually fix the issue on their own. I will tell you this, I can probably count on one hand the number of non-Samsung Netflix issues I've dealt with, while the Samsung-specific ones (whether it be a TV, a Blu-ray player, or a 4K Media Server), have been LEGION. And bad firmware from Samsung is not a new thing.

Hi guys,

I am in the market for a new TV, and I have no clue what to choose. Im basically looking for anything at or above 50", that would be used primarily for gaming and watching sports. My budget is around $700, and I don't really care if it has the whole "smart TV" stuff, as my XB1 has the same features.

If you arent familiar with specific models, are there any brands I should be attracted to or stay away from?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

you could get a nice 40 inch for $500 or less, and have $200 to yourself, which is a good way to go imo

I'm thinkin Samsung led by the way
