The difference is only in the beats basically.

Both forms of music have rapped vocals, whereas hip-hop beats are WAY different than rap beats.

There are TONS of talented rappers.( Murs, Immortal Technique, RA The Rugged Man, and more)
and tons of great hip hop(the coup, DFC, das efx, etc.)

no way shape or form was my opintion ignorant. hip hop lyrics flow, they're smooth, where as to rap they now base it on repetition. new age rap is such a joke.

Youre being ignorant yourself. Rap is hip hop. Hip hop is a culture, and rap is a part of the hip hop culture. What the fuck are mc's doing over beats? they are rapping. Its the new "hip hop" that is wack, because people like lilwayne and fucking t-pain are just so god awful. There's a fine difference between good and bad hip hop. But theyre both rap.
