I actually know exactly how he feels. After I broke my neck, my instincts told me to get up because everything felt fine, there was no pain. I even tried to pull my torso up by throwing my arms forward for momentum just like he did, but the lower portion of your body just doesn't respond.

Kind of hideous to watch when everyone is laughing, but you can't blame them, it's not like the average person would realize the severity of the situation right away.

I couldn't tell if his fingers could move, but it looks like he had tricep and pectoral muscle function. It is probably an injury in the C-7 to T-2 vertebrae range. I hope the damage to his spinal cord was minimal.

Took about 1 year of physical rehab after my accident to gain back what hand function I could (probably 50% function/strength in my hands). Playing video games helped too :lol: I'm still paralyzed from the armpits on down though--spinal cord injuries don't heal.
