I bet all of you are saying Macs suck because thats the Sterotype now adays. you probably say they suck because its the "Cool" thing to do.

I have only ever reformatted one of the macs, and that was the 2nd computer we -ever- had, which ran os 8, which imo is crap. 9 is crap too. I do admit, before apple came out with osX it just sucked and there were so many error messages (heh agree with you on that one) so either you were using a os 9 or earlier mac, or you just fail at life. Btw we have had the pc for about 7 months and its already had 2 reformats beucase of viruses... retarded drivers... ect.

I have to say, I do like the PC for some things, more stuff for DVD burning and such...  but once i get an intel mac that can run windows AND osX, I am set.


Oh, and solidsnake... on a mac the backspace is called DELETE. LOL.

I believe the original post was talking about Mac os, and not the comp.

Ever used a mac(os) b4 i heard the os is shit but the comps r ok

Alright, you people are skipping over some very big things:

First of all, Microsoft has 90% market share on OS's -- that's a nine followed by a zero folks. Don't forget this.

So is it 'easier' to hack into a windows machine? No, but if you want to create a virus that causes mayhem you target the biggest group of people you can, which in this case is the 90% of people in the world that run windows, NOT the 10% that run a Mac OS. 90% market share means 99% of the worlds hackers.

Also, Microsoft is considerably larger than Apple, and their main focus is computers (where as apple is switching to smaller consumer electronics, i.e. ipods). Why would you think that a small computer department in a (relativly) smaller company could outpace a large computer department in a larger company? XP was released in 2001, that's 6 years ago folks. So all of these things that windows 'copied' from the Mac OS weren't copied at all, they were actually probably in development first, but released later since Microsoft wanted to make a good stable OS with minimal security loopholes.

From everything I have heard they did that, and more.

Microsoft stole Apple's ideas from the get-go.

The only reason most people say they don't like Macs is because they don't know how to use them properly and are accustomed to Windows-based PCs. Think about if you had been using a Mac your whole life and tried to switch to using Windows. Probably wouldn't be very easy and there would be a lot of moaning and general bitching.

Now, I'm not saying Microsoft makes a horrible operating system in Windows. It can be good at times. I'm just saying that OSX can be just as good at times. They each have their strengths.

Keep an open mind people. It never hurts.
