Knowing that the kid is ultimately okay (okay as in maybe cut and bleeding a little bit at the worst), in terms of the aftermath I would of probably done the same as the other kids.

Let the hurt one settle down a little bit, and when he's finished screaming then deal with it.

It would take quite a hit to crack the skull. I doubt that kids half playful little wind-up whack would deliver a hit that powerful.


In all likeliness the kid was bruised with a small cut at the absolute worst. Pet him on the head and say it's okay til he stops crying and life moves on.
