Hey there,

a buddy and I are looking for a new mmo that we can dump our time into. We've mostly played
GW2 so far. Here's what I'd like to know:
Is there any way to get to max level without doing quests? I know this is kinda odd, but if there is one
thing that I really despise it's talking to NPCs and running from quest to quest. I'm hating every single second
when doing quests.
I can stand hours and hours in one spot and kill the same mob over and over again...that's totally fine for me.
In GW2 I only leveled playing PvP. So yeah, can I somehow level up in Tera without doing all the quests? :)

Thanks for reading!

I played tera for about a month straight. From my experience it had a real grind feeling to it, like any mmo the more time you put into the more you get out of it. I didn't really like the abilities of each class, felt like there were way too many useless abilities. The dungeons were also pretty well designed. Only thing that got me to quit was the fact that the targetting system and camera angles were terrible to deal with. I just felt like I was always limited to the amount of things I could do. Try it out for a bit and see if you like it, but it wasn't for me.

Second the notions of the annoying camera angles and lackluster targeting system. In regards to targeting though, most abilities are either smartcast or hitbox, so there's not a lot of targeting that goes out.

Played it for a couple of months non-stop, got bored and fell back into WoW when I found out my buddies were back and doing mythic content.

No real way to level without doing quests. You can PVP but I don't recall it being very quick. Fastest way to level without questing was just dungeon grinding - if you run with a tank+heal, you can pretty much get instant queues to everything. There are a few level brackets where it's not worth queuing into a dungeon for XP, but you'll want to farm them for gear and gold anyway. The best balance, imo, would be to run through the main story quests, which take you into a dungeon and maximize efficiency that way, if you're going through the dungeon grind.

Just rush thru quests, with the ocational dungeon when you got quest for it only. Took me 2.5 days to hit max level.

The game is not worth it tho, and is only being milked for the amazing cash shop variety.
Game runs like horseshit, and havnt recieved a single performance fix/improvement since release.
And it wont.

Get out before you get to attached :)
