Any advice for new players? Plan on playing a Elf Mystic.

I just started this game aswell - EU.

Just do the story and side quests til you can do dungeons, then just do the story quests.

Also from what i understand, Mystic might not be the best class to start with.

I am too an elf mystic I find it funny. I just started and to get gold I have been mining ore and selling it in the brokerage. Get way more gold from that then any of the quests I've done. Good luck.
