I hate P2W games, or games where you HAVE to pay to experience parts of the game / paying $8 a day gives you unfair advantages in leveling etc.

I see there's an "elite" status, which isn't different than a subscription really, but what about everything else in the cash shop?

idk bout EU Server, in NA its $15 a month for elite.
you dont need elite to play, but its lot convenient to have, having elite doesnt give u crazy advantage over ppl who dont, more of a convenience

lvling wise, u can buy xp boost for gold in game from broker house, very cheap and easy to obtain.
if you know what your doin u can lvl 1-60(max lvl) in 3-5 days, playin 8hrs a day.

once ur max lvl and have obtained pretty good gear, u can start making gold fairly easily
but until then u'll need to support urself by using fg or cash shop (can reach end game with gear within 1-2 weeks)
unless u wanna play legitly to obtain ur gear, which will take 2-4 months depending on how much u play

they dont sell gear in cash shop, they sell only enchanting materials, which can also be obtain in game as well, people mostly use cashshop for costumes or enchanting materials to sell for gold

In EU it's the same, the game is not pay to win, the shop is mostly used for cosmetics.

Sounds a lot like Flyff tbh, and I <3'd that game back when it was actually popular.

don't start this game. leveling in it sucks. takes fucking forever when you're new, makes you want to slit yours wrists

Ty for the info, I'll keep an eye on it but I don't know of any MMO that leveling doesn't suck with the first time through at least lol. If I'm understanding this all correctly, I can use some FG to buy gold and speed up the process as well

e: So far I'm actually digging the feel of this game (I'm a massive level 7 at the moment lol), is the PvP as intense as I'm thinking it will be?

Tera has one of the most amazing pvp system in mmo's.
The game is ran by Unreal Engine, the engine used to run the game Gears of War, and many other fps game.
You have to aim and target your opponents in order to hit them. It's a combat system, not where you just select with mouse and press few buttons.

Like I said before, you can reach max level within 3-4 days. Leveling in this game is easier than even WoW.

well also thats cuz WoW has like 30 xtra levels on Tera
however, as a mystic, i have hit a wall where solo questing is just not even worth my time to do, and queueing dungeons takes forever sometimes

Tera has an amazing combat system that is ruined by the game being completely P2W. I got to max level, fucked around with the dungeons and PvP. You get completely stomped on in PvP unless you have a complete set of pvp gear. The PVE gear is the same way, you have to grind dungeons forever to get it and you are limited in the # you can do per day (UNLESS YOU PAY FOR ELITE$$$$)

Leveling from 1-60 I made like 25k gold just leveling, which was enough to buy like one shitty PVE weapon. Was pretty much just being carried through the dungeons that mattered. Then I waited a week and timed some events right and bought some shit from the P2W shop and make about 200k which was enough to buy a better set of gear and and weapon and enchant ONE THING.

Game is really fun leveling but the p2w endgame ruins it for me. At first I thought it was just cosmetic shit but once you realize they sell all the enchanting mats you need then you realize its the classic "grind for 2 months or grind a week and just pay $200 for best in slot"

Just my $.02, it was fun leveling but my hatred for p2w games just ruined any other fun that could be had at max level
