This is interesting, the last of the Tera updates before Open Beta. They seem to have really improved the opening area of the game, which has turned a lot of people off in the past.

Improved Early Play

We've fine-tuned your first sessions in TERA to deliver maximum action and get your journey off to a rapid start.

Tired of games that start you in an out-of-the-way village where the chieftain wants you to collect coconuts in the jungle? TERA's new playable prologue starts you right in the middle of the action: a beachhead under assault by demonic forces. It's not just a cutscene—you'll be fighting big-ass monsters within minutes, learning the controls as you go.

The thrills don't stop when you leave the prologue behind. We've adjusted the storyline quests throughout the first 20 levels to challenge you as they reveal more of TERA's deep lore. The boss monsters in particular got upgrades they can't wait to test out...on you!
Feature at a Glance

Playable Prologue: You become part of a beach landing gone awry. Can you save your allies and prevent a military disaster?
Badder Bosses: New tactics and deadlier attacks from early-level foes. You'll earn those levels.
Quest Variety: Dozens of new quests that take TERA far beyond repetitive "hunt," "gather," and "deliver" tasks, and reveal the world's rich history and cultures.

For anyone who isn't currently guilded and may be looking for a guild in the future...

I'd suggest getting a good group of friends together/semi static and just leveling and gearing up and waiting for now. There's a lot of guilds out there right nowthat claim to be a lot of things, but most of them won't last and once those fall apart you'll see which guilds are really worthwhile to apply to.

Ya forum guilds are gonna be a joke. I think Adynos and I are gonna guild up and try to find 3 other legit players to play with, and possibly expanding from there.

We both ranked in the top 10 of wow dps on world of logs and have been in progression guilds, looking for a team of badasses basically.

I'm rolling with Uprising, they were a dominant clan in Lineage 2 on Bartz and were pretty strong in Aion as well. UR is semi-hardcore/hardcore and has a lot of competent players with them throughout many MMOs so it fit in with what I was looking for in a guild.

Pretty much whatever guilds are still standing strong after 2 months will be ones worth considering.

I found a custom AA guide, I guess the in game AA is really unoptimized and makes stuff really blurry.

This picture should really be bigger or more zoomed in, but if you look closely you can see that the in game AA screenshot the textures are really blurry. Compare it to No AA or with the Nvidia forced AA and it should be obvious.

Can't wait to get goin! Though you will be ahead of me leveling since I won't get to play until 11:30 to midnight Thursday when I get off work. I'm so excited for release though and I guess leveling isn't to big of a deal early on since there is still a cap pre release

funny the small thing is circled when the tall thing on the right is a much better example.

So for the open beta, do you actually keep the levels you earn for release? That's kind of how it's sounding from what I'm reading.

As far as guilds go, I'm creating a guild with my real life friends. There will be about 6 of us.
