There is a story, but it isn't exactly shoved into your face at the beginning.

What you know from levels 1-22 is that you were sent to the island of dawn (starter zone) to investigate the missing expedition.

I didn't read into the final quest but something major happened but there is not much you can do about it, you are then sent to the major city. When there you talk to the leader of the people and he makes you a soldier or whatever to fend off attacks close to home as the more powerful soldiers (you are a small fry) are fighting the war far away.

all that happens from levels 11-12 and from 12-22 you are just doing the regular style of quests with a little story of each area thrown in, like the "unicorn" (doesnt really look like one thank god) seravvy and how he became tainted to evil and how losing him entirely to evil would destoy the Fae forest.

Anyone selling beta keys or is it too early in the process for spares to be around?

Doubt anyone has spare keys as the only way to guarantee beta access is to pre-order. Otherwise you have to try to get keys through giveaways and they're pretty high in demand.

No, anything but pre orders are wiped 1 time only beta testers.

So the IGN contest was only for CBT1, and their characters are wiped. Same goes for any other beta key giveaway that was not paid for.
