Polished..... really? Have you played GW2 or even Tera???

Tera has been out in korea for a year and almost the same time in Japan, that lends itself to being far more polished than any game would be after some beta testing and a release, all of which GW2 hasn't even seen yet.

Also being that GW2 is going to be buy to play, asking many people in North America their feelingso n p2p mmos they will likely go off on a tangent about WTF is an MMO???? Then they will rage that it is 15$ a month when a lot of the time the same people buy a console game every month or every other week.... GW2 lends itself to the tendencies of the western gamer.

So, more polished? No.

More fit for the western market? Yes.

Tera is actually pretty polished so far. I still think Guild Wars 2 will do better overall, but Tera should be able to do fairly well in the NA market. It's had a year in Korea and once it releases in NA, it'll have lots of improvement and probably more content.

Don't forget, you CAN buy game time in Tera with in game currency so you don't have to necessarily pay the $15/month yourself.

Lets not confuse people with a miswording...

Chronoscrolls are purchasable from enmasse they are a virtual coupon in game that can be traded. It is a one month game time consumable. So someone is still paying 15$ for this item, kind of like WoW game time trading, but legal.

Someone is, but that person doesn't have to be you. It isn't exactly a miswording, I just didn't go into that much detail about it.

Making a point that you don't get a decent amount of gold and go to a vendor, it is a person you buy it from and it will not be cheap.

I would say that it'll probably be cheaper in the beginning of the game though since people don't have that much gold yet, also dependent on how many people actually sell. At some point there will probably be a more set going rate on them.

Why couldn't it? And those 2 games aren't exactly a completely different genre.

Action RPG's are completely different from MMORPGs games with an immersive world. They attract two different crowds of players.

Tera is still an MMORPG... also it isn't a faction based game so it won't have any of the flaws of those type of games. Diablo 3 is more of a game that everyone will play just because, but I wouldn't put that much stock in D3's pvp compared to GW2 or Tera. Diablo 3 will be a good game and all, but it is not an MMO. People looking for a good pvp MMO will either play Tera or Guild Wars 2, or both.
