Tera now and D3 later. D3 isn't even launching with pvp which pretty much tells me they probably aren't going to put much focus on that aspect at all, plus whoever is trying to make money off the real money AH won't be making as much as they think they will. I think it'll be a fun game, but more so as like a single player kind of game. The most important time to get into an MMO is right at launch so imo Tera.

I'd suggest getting into Diablo 3 since even if you do get into Tera i don't see playing in a month or two.

IMO, D3 doesn't look any good. Selling based on the name and company. But since you already think D3 is going to be great then get that. If I was unsure between two games I would go with whichever I had more friends playing.

The community is what keeps you playing a specific game at the end.

They both have their good and bad points, but based off PvP and money here are just a few.
TERA has great PvP, but you have to pay monthly.
D3 won't have PvP at launch (and maybe not for a while), but you only have to pay the retail price and that's it.

I will be picking up D3 and still be playing TERA.
Probably will grab GW2 as well when it releases since the same thing applies to it as well.

If it bothers you that much, you can always turn off LFG chat and nobody's making you read the EME forums.

It really isn't all that bad, its only the big forum based community guilds from 4chan and SomethingAwful. I can tune out that junk pretty well, but there's always the option in your chat tabs to turn off any chats you don't want to see. If you end up playing Tera, just find a group of friends or people who are like-minded and it'll be fine. I'm having a good time playing it, I'm pretty much always doing something (instances on my lvl 60 berserker main or leveling up alts).

What? I rarely see guild recruitment. The most I see is people looking for dungeon groups, which is great. People actually want to play with their server instead of queueing.

Also I'm in one of the 4chan guilds. The /a/ guild Touch Fluffy Tail. We don't recruit at all.
