no big deal since its just like WoW etc so basic group tactics are piece of cake. Anyways i am stil bit undecided if i should play this game or not. Also i am european player etc so it would be nice if you'd let out some more informations.

I think there might be a EU chapter but it won't be near as big.

PS the game is literally nothing like WoW except for there being dungeons, but every damn game has dungeons.

i know kinda all you can know about tera dude, and just cause the gameplay differs from WoW a bit does not make it much different. Its allways same stuff you have 1 tank (maybe 2-3 depending on boss)1 healer (or more depending on boss) and few DD's while there is hardly anything new nowadays about the classes anyways. I like Tera Grafics a bit, personally i think GW2 will make it this year, and Tera will go free2play in a year or so. Honestly since WoW there are just to many MMORPGS coming so that the gamer can hardly decide on anything.
Earlier it was easy u played a hack n Slay u played Diablo 2, u played something with cars -> Need for speed part (whatever), MMORPG -> WoW (still the best i guess even if i did not play for since Burning Crusade well its a Blizzard game) Quality over Quantity.
Good luck with your Guild but besides GW2 there is Diablo 3 coming and kinda all ppl i know will play it... Blizzard will make it again this year. And so playerbase will fall again in all games, just like in Tera and if Diablo 3 comes out before Tera, there will be many not even starting Tera , while they would if D3 did not come out. Etc etc etc you could discuss about it for hours...

A few things:

• TERA comes out first.
• I haven't talked to a single person who isn't already let down by D3 and it isn't even out yet. To think that a game can hold its own against the nostalgia behind d2 is just silly. Refer to WoW vanilla vs Cata.
• Yes its hard to break completely free from an MMO RPG genre when you make an MMO RPG...
• GW2 Might be decent, its B2P though which will discourage many for the sheer fact that the update quality simply won't be as good. Not saying bad, just not AS good.
• In TERA you do not need the 1/3/1 group build. It is all based on what the group is capable of. Hence why you can solo monsters like that one in the video. I ran a dungeon last night where we had 5 melee and just dodged and blocked the hell out of everything while tearing it in half.
• The classes and the way they are used are completely different from WoW.
• And the open world environment is controlled by politics. Every 3 weeks there is an election for 19 zones. Each guild/the vanarch can control up to 1 zone at a time. Within that you can control whether or not pvp is allowed in the zone, what types of vendors and trainers are available, what the taxes on merchandise is or isn't, etc.
• I don't expect TERA to have a huge following, and I'm okay with that, less people to throw in terrible suggestions and fuck it up imo.
• I don't think this is the best game ever, but I do think its the best bang for your buck in terms of enjoyment within the current market.

Meanwhile... EU beta goes live next weekend and we'll all be there. Let me know ahead of time if you plan on playing and we can have you do some runs with us / hang on vent and possibly recruit you for N/A.

i did not want to offend you in any way first of all, next thing D3 is not a big deal of "telling me about other games.." since its D3, and yeah i am pissed off waiting so long aswell. Well i do want to try it out maybe i am just carefully cause i am a guy who gets prety easy addicted to a game once he likes it and i just have to make up my mind. Its just i hope for a new MMORPG that can beat WoW since i quit WoW... and i checked out kinda all there is up to now, no matter if its Aion / RoM /Perf. World and its copies / Warhammer.. etc etc played like for sure 30-40 MMORPGS and just none had the grip, the support etc. like WoW. Its sad that no company has the skills to beat an old game like that... never even thought in begin that WoW could hold up so freakin long -.-
When it comes out next Weekend i ll go and play a Tank i guess and see how it is.

Yeah try to get your hands on a beta key or pay 5 bucks and just buy one off the company. Lancers are the tanks, warriors are as well, but they are dodge/leather tanks so they require a little more skill to use. If you get one, pm me.
Yes I agree, WoW has effectively ruined MMOs for most people, we'll break free eventually though. Perhaps like an Ice age where the slate gets cleaned.

Mmmm BAMs are always fun, you gotta work on them dodges though!

WoW does one thing well, it caters to the casuals. And really that's where the $$ and staying power come from.

Tera isn't that hardcore by any means. You can go from 1-58/60 whichever ends up being max level cap for launch in probably a week or less. It'll take casuals a bit longer, but shouldn't be longer than a month to hit max.
