I made a trade with a member (I will not say who out of respect for their trade post) and lost tons of gold + time by doing a marketplace trade versus the standard 1v1 trade via trading post.
Perhaps this was my fault, but this was their suggestion. Make a marketplace trade so that we can save time overall. Cool, let's do it.
I list the trade on marketplace, and send them the FG. They accept and I am transferred the gold (but not really). It is stuck in the marketplace until I make room in my stash + inventory. The issue here is that I made room for the trade by freeing up enough space for the gold bags that would have been received in a regular 1v1 trade versus marketplace, because the marketplace gold is received in simple 10g stacks.
So while the receiver got their FG on time and quicker, I was stuck with the following:
• Paying 3 figures of g for the marketplace trade instead of x g for the trade fees over x 1v1 trades.
• Force-selling some of stash-items to make space for this influx of gold.
• Buying metric loads of gold bags to fit the gold, further decreasing my amount received.
• Wasting 20 minutes of my time figuring this out because I am a casual player, when the trade coulda just been done in quick successions of standard trade.
Overall kind of lame, I kind of don't give a shit but maybe I do for making this post.
Just wanted to make a PSA of my mistake, cheers.
