Typically when I say I'm never going to play again I sit there until I realize I have nothing else going on in my life, and the only reason I was playing the game to begin with was to distract myself from the truth that I am a failure. I then typically re-roll a new character, or watch documentaries on youtube, about people whose lives are way more fucked up than mine so I don't feel as bad.

Hope this helps

Yeah dude I feel you! You will get back there dont worry :) also just a word of advice... until you feel VERY confident playing a character I would suggest not using life/mana pots on a character. They are extremely expensive and even 8/8 characters die relatively often. For the cost of maxing life/mana you could make 2-3 6/8 heros. This translates to being able to rebuild much faster after dying.

before going 7/8 and 8/8 and using tops, use old tops and build up a second 6/8 char
dying is not that harsh when u have several chars to build on

After I got my wiz to 6/8 I knew it would suck to die so I saved all pots and traded them for defs/lifes so I could rebuild it superfast back. I've lost many 7/8's and 8/8's before and that's why I quit for long time ^^ Take a few hours or days break from game and see if u want to play again now.

This... Old tops (t11/t5's) and 6/8 characters until you build up the skill to use 8/8's... It's not as hard to rebuild if you have several near-maxed characters to farm dungeons with.

Consider even only going to 4/8. The two most important stats in the game are speed (dodging, THE most important aspect of a bullet-hell) and defense (when you have to actually take a few shots). Dex and attack do nothing but allow you to kill faster/get soul bound in a large group. Wisdom and vitality are nearly null at this point now that pets exist. Life and mana are important, but not nearly as needed as the first two stats mentioned.

I had 6x 6/8's before I built my account of 16 8/8's. Also, stay out of shatters/tombs until you are able to afford to lose a character. Any really dangerous dungeon is not worth farming and having a SLIGHT chance at good loot if you lose characters often. You'll never get ahead.

Yup shatters, LoD, tombs and the lucky ent dungeon should be avoided until you can afford to risk a character or feel confident in your ability as a player

honestly all 3 of the "epic" dungeons should be avoided unless you can plan to lose a character. The bosses are insanely overpowered (in my honest opinion) and the loot you get is no where near worth the high possibility you could lose your 8/8 in a single shotgun or bad room. The katana is decent... personally I'd rather stick with my ray katanas. The sword is one of the best in the game but its such a small boost compared to the others it isn't worth it... and the leaf bow is complete trash aside from being neat looking.
