You need to find a pet with both heal and mp heal on it for 2 of the 3 abilities (preferably the first 2 since you unlock those sooner). You can't fuse with another pet and unlock the other pet's ability.

It's not a waste yet. You need 2 uncommons to get to rare anyway. So keep maxing that one and use it til you find a common farm egg with the abilities you want.
And yes. Keep working on that pet. Just when fusing the two uncommons (once you get a nice base you want with heal/mp), keep the pet with the good abilities on the LEFT. The one on the right poofs.

You don't have to unlock all 3. Imo a maxed rare is really op as is. You won't unlock the 3rd ability to legendary anyway. It all takes an assload of fame and time too. :/

/e: If you do intend on unlocking the 3rd ability though, I suggest trying to get electric for the 3rd. It's probably the most useful out of any of the other damaging abilities.

Yup max the uncommon you have now with heal, and look for another common with a heal/mp or mp/heal base, get that to uncommon and fuse those two, but keep the pet with the good abilities on the left. That's super important when you get to fusing those two maxed uncommons.
