So I am about 10 hours new to ROTMG and was wondering if someone could possibly answer these questions:

1) What is the point of the game after level 20? I see that I am 130/150 fame. I assume once I get 150 it will change to like 300 or something, but whats the point? Can people see this? What are the benefits to fame? Or do I just die once I get to 20 to make room for a new character?

2) Which class is better for a permanent character, knight or wariror?

3) What sword is better, skysplitter or crystal sword and why?

4) Whats this potion of vitality I found worth?

I spent about 30 fg on gear so I got some decent stuff for a newbie, but just trying to get a little better and figure things out. Would appreciate all advice and thank you. Also I am looking for a guild to talk to people in game just so im not bored. If anyone would welcome me it would be cool.

1. The point after 20 is to farm to 4,000 farm (5 stars for each character), farm for gear (dungeons, events, etc.), People can't see your fame in the game, but they can see your Star/Level.

2. It's all up to preference and your experience with each class.

3. skip

4. 1def/10fg

Do I have to die in order to get a different color star or will it change once I get more fame?

Pretty sure it updates as you complete class quests.
Don't think you have to die.
However, when you die you end up getting more fame because of bonuses.

The point of this game is basically to max out your chars stats, get the best gear, and set up more chars, do harder and harder dungeons, etc, and ofc get as much fame as possible on your chars to get on the coveted legends list.

Warrior and knight are both great chars, it's whatever you like best really, warriors are great dps and have a nice ass buff and are one of the top dps sword class, knights are tankier and have a stun that's got great utility for just about everything, or armor break if you use ogmur which is also pretty cool.

Skysplitter puts out more dmg but the range is shorter, csword is used for stuff you cant get up close and personal with and just he bitch man slap the shit out of it while tanking it, it's more of a have a skysplitter but keep a csword in your inventory just in case scenario than using one permanently over the other.

1. Get 2,000 fame to max out the stars on your character. Max out your character to farm potions and good items to become richer.

2. It depends on your skills. For a new player, its better to play as a knight as 1. its easier to max most stats and 2. its much easier to stun something then consistently dodging.

3. Skysplitter for damaging for Soul bound (O1, O2, crystal prisoners, mainly the mass bosses and events) Crystal sword for range, and generally farming.

4. Vitality is worth 1 defense now a days.

1) - https://forums.wildshadow.com/wiki/realm-mad-god/class-quests-fame-ranks |||| Also fame will be used for more in the future. Waiting for a fame overhaul patch to see exactly what, but probably the stuff in town that can be bought for only gold at the moment will be bought with fame as well. We'll have to wait and see exactly.

2) - No character is permanent. Even skilled players lose characters all the time, but usually have enough items from the time spent alive to rebuild very quickly. Both warrior and knight are excellent classes. One more tanky with a stun, one does more damage and boosts allies damage. Both are fairly difficult to play especially for someone a bit newer. If you havent seen it yet, check this page to see what their stats cap at, along with the rest of the classes. https://forums.wildshadow.com/wiki/realm-mad-god/classes

3) - As a new player if you are only able to afford one, go with crystal sword. Neither is better, just different. The crystal sword has higher range to provide a little more safety when fighting. When you dont need that extra safety range, use the highest tier sword you have. What most melee do is carry around two swords and switch as needed. With more experience you can do most things with the shorter range sword, but early on that extra range makes all the difference in the world. List of all swords damage/range. You didnt ask about this, but also wanted to say dont use demon blade as a new player. https://forums.wildshadow.com/wiki/realm-mad-god/swords

4) - Go with what Vaeflare said using that price guide with defense being 10fg each. Linking again for convenience - https://forums.wildshadow.com/node/171801
