It does not have to be heal.

The only prerequisites you really need to concern yourself with is that the two pets are from the same family and that they are leveled to capacity before you fuse.

The pet with the abilities you want to keep will go into the left fusion box. The pet in the right box will be atomized in a most painful manner and reconstituted as muscles for your preferred pet.

once they get to a certain rarity the appearance will change so check if you like what your pet will look like.

i got a brown puppy and a baby, both got heal, are they ALMOST the same? or is one better than the other?

The way the pet looks is just aesthetics and means nothing on the scale of better or worse.

and how many pots do i need to max exactly? does every pot give +1 def +1speed each use?

Should i start to max a knight maybe?

Depends on the rest of stats on each of the pets as well.

knight is great, with decent gear and max dex they are pretty tanky. I learned how most dungeons work playing on a knight.

and if you go with knight id go with hp right, you have high enough def anyways.

Knights are expensive on account of how much defense they have.

I would suggest going with a ranged/healing class such as Priest or Necromancer. While they do not stack well in groups for getting loot, they are fantastic at longevity and learning the ropes.

I got a T10 bow, is that worth a T10 staff?
