I was really good a previous battlefields for consoles but this is my first time playing it on PC (or any FPS for that matter). I wanted to experience the game on ultra settings with 64 players seeing as I'm not buying ps4 or xbox one..

.. but its impossible to learn the controls on the PC, people are scales better than console players, so I feel like I'm just being fodder while I get used to the controls.

Should I just say fuck it and get a ps3 or xbox 360 usb controller? Or am I just having bad luck at being placed in games with really good players?

you will have no chance vs comp users with a controller but you are welcome to try

I agree, but I'm in no way used FPS on computer controls, I feel like it's going to be near impossible to learn considering how ridiculous everyone is on the PC.

I'm confused on how it's hard.
Flying is harder on the PC in my opinion, but that gets easier with time, however aiming/moving is far superior on the PC in my opinion.

Are you having trouble aiming? if so, it's because the PC does not have Aim assist that the consoles come with.

That could be the issue, its more or less the reaction times of other people are way superior it seems on the pc because there are probably a lot more casual shitty players on consoles. But i dont know if my previous battlefield experience helps, but i found learning to fly on PC has been easier to learn at first than on console.

Reaction times will improve as you learn the maps/get a feel for having your hand in two different places, instead of on the same object (controller).
However, you're probably right, most casuals play on console simply because it's cheaper as a pickup and play option, and that's what the casuals prefer, just buying the console/game, then getting right into it.

PC controls are bit of a pain in the ass to learn vs console..but i prefer PC > any console.

on xbox 360 i was an AMAZING attack heli player..could dominate a whole and hardly die at all if any...even solo. if my friend played with me and him as gunner = REAL hard to kill us/un stoppable.

then i tried on pc..did horribad lol but i still need to get BF4 on PC and get my butt to learning controls better on jets/helis.

lol using a controller on a pc is a real bad idea. What I use is my naga epic or death adder ( mostly my epic I know its a mmo mouse, but I love it) and my newly bought razer tartarus gaming keypad for my elbow when I have surgery next month. Anyway K/M is the way to go you just have to get use to it.

mouse/kb is far superior than a controller for aiming which is why everyone is better on pc
i can help you set up good key bindings and mouse settings if you want some advice
i played bf3 competitively and i just went back to playing it today because bf4 sux

one tip i can give is to try lowering your sensitivity
i find that many newer players have crazy high sensitivity but battelfield isnt really a twitch aim game
low sensitivity will help you aim more precisely and control recoil better

use controller for flying only

although, when i tried it, it wouldn't let me switch back to keyboard and mouse until I unplugged it. i also heard it is buggy.
