is it possible to delete older patches from ps3?
From what I have read on the Battlefield forums and other sources on the internet some people say you can't and can delete old patch files.
Some people were able to delete old multiplayer updates, download the newest one (which would be update 5 that I posted above) and play online. I found this tutorial on a website about the patches and which can be safely deleted. Navigate to your hard drive and you should have
Rent-A-Server / E-Sports Update & Mulitiplayer Update 4. The 2 files combined is approximately 2.4 gigs and those can be deleted. Then you can attempt to connect to Battlefields server (in game) and you will be prompted to download the newest patch which is
Multiplayer Update 5 which is approximately 1.8 gigs. After a successful download you should be good to play.
Yesterday I popped in BF3 after not playing for 500 days and I only had to download the latest patch Multiplayer Update 5. Some people say their Battlefield 3 file is like 20 gigs but I'm sure that is with DLC. Mine is roughly 5-6 gigs I think but that is because I installed the HD graphics + the new patch.
Hope that helped was a bit of a mouthful
