bf3 ruined single player on hard. every enemy focuses on killing you, makes the game not fun to play and very aggravating in some parts of the campaign

Don't really feel that bad for you. Battlefield 2's single player was playing on a normal online map (not online of course), but against bots. There was no real story line and the bots still focused on you even though they sucked. You just have to be good in order to progress in SP. Play on the easier settings if you can't handle it.

I dislike the SP in BF3 myself, mainly because I didn't buy BF3 for the single player, I bought it for the online aspect. Not worth working my ass off in SP for some lame ass dog tag. Only mission that is beneficial in SP is that helicopter one.

if you can't beat it on hard don't play it on hard

personally I played it on the medium setting, wasn't a huge challenge for me, I did die quite a few times at parts I didn't understand what to do.

What heli?
Only heli that you can fly is in co-op mission.

SP start was pretty lame but after few levels it was decent experience, although there were too many times when you got hit by rpg or other explosion.
