Hey guys! So I'd like to know how to get better in sniping in this game. I hardly ever played it and now I've started to play more with my friends. I'm level 10 atm.

So I'd like to know which is the best snipers I can use and how to unlock them.
Does using a shotgun with recon count for unlock sniper rifles?
At which distance does the bullet start to drop, and how much does it drop? (I need tips on this)
I'd also like tips on how to calculate the distance.

I play in PS3, if it helps.

you would only unlock what ever weapon you are currently using || shotgun = shotgun unlocks, even if used in recon mode
' best ' I don't think there is such a thing, I use the m98 and svd, I find those 2 remarkable sniper rifles with suppressed rounds and 12x scope || depends on which map you're currently in, some maps favor snipers others don't
distance at which bullet drops, depends on if you have a suppressor, flash supporessor, ect, as for the actual numbers I have no idea
being a conqest map depending on where you are standing, and your opponent is standing you can semi judge distance by the distance it shows on the flag near him, if no distance is visable it will tell you if you get a head shot, it'll say something like ' marksman 318m ' that would mean 318m distance

when higher then them inless over 300-400meters you dont need to go far off the actual center

should be bottem of scope

being higher then them lets you shoot more strait iv noticed so everything is about angle n how high u are.
while at the same time if your shooting someone higher then you give an extra 1/2 line up from what u think would normally hit him if he was on the ground lvl with you.


as becoming a better sniper i sudjest playing till you get the mav
this will make you very good at spoting for team mates and also finding some posted prey for you.

and yes the shotgun will lvl the recon class and therefor unlock the unlockable guns but if u have ps3 or bought the map pack id sudjest working on getting the L9 kills all other snipers but the m98b (real good with acog/pull bolt for quick small maps)

i'm pretty sure it doesnt matter what weapon you use as long as its recon. cuz you get new snipers when ur recon class levels up.
as for the snipers i'd say you should use a bolt action sniper rifle cuz they do kill with 1 headshot or 2 body shots. the non bolt action sniper rifles need 2-3 hits (don't know about headshots cuz its been a long time since i used one).
if you want to know bullet drop u'll have to practice.
