At Sony's E3 press conference the company announced a series of exclusives between it and Electronic Arts. One of them was that PS3 Battlefield 3 buyers would get a free copy of Battlefield 1943 included on their blu-ray discs. EA has now altered the deal, and is offering something else instead.

A statement on the official Battlefield 3 twitter feed reads: "In lieu of 1943 being available on disk for PS3 customers, EA has made all BF3 expansions available early to PS3 customers."

Interestingly, the fact that PS3 owners would be able to play Battlefield 3 DLC early was already announced, it's just that nobody at the time knew that it was at the expense of Battlefield 1943.

It's a moot point but, which would you rather have, early DLC access or Battlefield 1943?

1943 is a nice little arcade game, but I'd take the DLC over it, besides the fact I already own 1943.

Whats the status on the servers? Half my games are fucking losses because I get disconnected, doesn't save stats for that game but saves the fucking loss. Thanks EA
