I loved first person shooter games on the computer when I was a kid. I started playing them with Delta Force. Played them all, Black Hawk Down was amazing I had to be one of the best in the world I played it so much. I had the original call of duties battlefield 2, counterstrike. All these games had one thing in common. Private servers. You bought the game and then you could host your own games. For free from your computers. You could even set up a dedicated server. for free. The best part was the people who played the game loved it. They banned hackers from their servers which was ridiculously rare to begin with. People were mature, they got along and played for fun.
Nowadays though, video game companies have been bought out by monopolies like EA and they don't give a flying fuck about anything but money. They give us shit, they don't let you make your own maps have your own servers or do anything whatsoever unless it makes them a shit ton of money. Improving our gameplay experience doesn't make them money so they don't do it. Smaller firms that might care enough to make a good game don't have the resources to make a successful game let alone advertise it. Therefor we are left with shit.
I used to love playing first person shooters. Then all you scumbag people came in and bought up all the shitty games and don't hold ea accountable for anything you just give them money money money (which I am guilty of too) and now all we have is shit. The fps world has gone to so much shit I just can't use the word enough to really describe it. It's fucking pathetic and depressing and horrible and there's nothing we can do about it. The golden age of video games is dead, we now live in the age of shit shit shit whatever makes the most profit for ea or whatever company. Fuck gamers, Fuck you and fuck me.
lol, you should send that to EA support.
But yea, the whole world is being consumed by whoever can make the most money...
Everything is built to a price and is meant to make the most money for the company, and fuck the little guy.
Why would you think the video game world would be any different?
