From my understanding you need to be level 60 to unlock pits?
Same for playing in Torment

What would be the best way? Obviously ill have a friend carry me

Power leveling is only really done from 1-60, anything after that with mooching off of pits, it's not too efficient unless you're wanting to get glyphs up fast without doing the early pit level grind.

1-60 will be in pits, but the difficulty of the game is set through the first 4 levels, i usually just join my friends that need it. Then I open the pit, they join, drop 3 incense and once he's 10 give him an elixir. First run will have you to level 35.

Takes about 7 or so runs to get you to max at 60. Then a few more if you want glyphs and levels. Once you're 60 and have some glyphs, it's easy enough to grind paragon while grinding the seasonal doing the chase-the-mob event.

For you to open them, yes. For someone else in your party to open it and you join/enter, no. They just have to open it and you can enter.

Yea the guy rushing opens the pit and you take his tp to by pass it
