D4 s7 Barb as a character or earthquake to deal damage to close enemies?

Question
Earthquake synergy:
Most high-level earthquake builds rely heavily on the "deal damage to close enemies" stat to maximize their damage output, since earthquake itself deals more damage when enemies are close?

no. force of nature legendary node in paragon. bonus % to damage vs close.
you probably wanna study a bit more on your build lol

Is it based on the distance between Earthquake and the monster?

Yes Damage to close is damage to close, so that’s based on distance.
But for the barb, please go into your paragon board and see if you picked that node

Force of nature legendary node

‘ Your Earthquakes have a 75% chance to spawn a Dust Devil every second that deals 270 damage. Earthquake damage is increased by 30% of your Damage vs Close bonus, up to a maximum of 150%.’

150/0.3 =500% so that’s your goal number

anything above 500% is just counted as normal damage to close as additive damage
