D4? Self found? That’s the first time i heard anyone with that opinion. Where majority players trade or beg for freebies.
Regardless whether you might be right or wrong about d4 being based around trading or not, last season, the first 2 weeks of the season in particular, it’s always been consistently 150 people on the sub forum. Look at it now, 7 days after season’s out, 70-80 average. They made the game far too easy, 3-4hours to max level, get bis uber gear in the next 24hours. Highest pit cleared after 5 days of season. They really screwed up big time.
Obviously blizzard has made trading more accessible basically every season but the game drop rates were based around self found and that has never been changed even as they’ve increased access to trade.
It’s very realistic to go self found and get yourself a full set of gear for your build which is entirely different than Poe. I realize SSF exists in Poe, but the reality is 99% of people trade in Poe because you absolutely have to. The game is entirely based around this necessity. D4 just isn’t even though it makes bob888 sad on a daily basis.
I’m highly skeptical the majority of d4 players trade. It’s easy enough to get yourself own stuff (arguably too easy as you allude, but it’s also achievable). And folks can do what they want but if you trade in d4 it’s way way way way too easy to gear up and goes even further to curbing what little grind there is. The game is really setup for the easy going gamer dad group. It just is what it is at this point.
