Have you noticed that duped items for sale in the hardcore forums are being rejected from the community?

Very intriguing to me. I personally don't support dupes or unperm items in games and don't condemn those who do, but when I noticed the people in softcore forums having bid wars on duped gear that can literally be crafted at an infinite supply it felt weird. How are they bidding on something that the seller has an infinite supply of?

Hardcore, my hat tips slightly in your favor for rejecting the dupe sellers in those forums. It's just like the gauntlet last season. When the softcore players were cheating and racking up millions of points through exploits. You guys stayed true and the leaderboards were pure and exploit free. God I love the HC community for stuff like this.

The duping in D4 is a tragedy.

It's worth mentioning that unlimited item sales are not allowed on JSP. And all these dupe-resellers have unlimited supplies of everything:



The trading rules on the forum "allow" dupes, because JSP mods can't be the arbiters of what's a dupe and what's not.

But what's going on in D4 is different; it is extremely obvious who the dupe-resellers are, and they should be banned.

I'm probably going to play only HC in future seasons, which at least has a reduction in dupe reselling due to supply-and-demand.

What you're saying makes sense. I trust in the staff that they have a our best interest in heart.

This rule is the one that gets me very confused here:

No binaries, hacks, bots, exploits, or unauthorized third party modifications of any game or program.

I can sell Duriel runs using duped mats. No problem there.

However!

Selling a Mythic Tribute run (a faster and easier alternative to running duriels for mythics) using tributes that were obtained in the same exact fashion is a violation of site rules. This doesn't make any sense at all to me. It's literally the same exact thing. Selling duped duriel runs vs. selling duped tribute runs. One is accepted and the other is a violation.

It's not for me to decide where the staff draws the line. I 100% trust in them to keep the site safe and secure for many more years to come.
