Have y’all visited the Blizzard forums for D4 recently? My god it’s like a giant emo fest of crybabies. I rennet when old school b.net was full of just 4-Chan style trolls having a blast and being ridiculous but nowadays it seems like the newer members of Blizzard’s fanbase are just whiny children that feel entitled to perfection on everything their parents purchase for them.


It’s absolutely wild. You even have people that were whining over a year ago on there STILL whining today. Hell even my toddler gets tired after 30 minutes of crying but these grown people are on there still at it!

Its a damn shame that the fanbase went from being a know base full of trolls and people with a ludicrous sense of humor to possibly one of the most emo and obnoxious fanbases around.

i noticed the same thing i actually saw it happen in real time with poe, i guess the biggest reason was the censorship that removed all the fun people or made them leave.. and especially on the forums, because they are easiest to censor so they dont have people who say stuff that gets you censored i got banned from poe forums like 20 times. so i dont wanna bother making a funny racist comment if mutahar_ggg is just going to delete it in 10 seconds

but i mean its not just that, people changed too! i guess thats what happens when a generation has it too easy and isnt used to actually having to work for anything happened throughout history, for example serbian greatest leader was called dusan the mighty and his son was called uros the weak

its a sign of the bigger problem, how society has turned men into entitled beta males

their game has gone the same direction too bud... youre just naive and arent willing to admit it, haha.

I mean the financials don’t even admit it. It will go down as the most profitable of the series once it’s all said and done.

Guess what matters the most in the gaming industry in 2024? Money. Simple as that.

i cant argue that, but in no way or form is that mentality good for the us as the consumer.

Heck even Olofsson said Tencent mentioned in no exact terms that if POE 2 doesn’t pull in triple the POE profit they’d consider it a failure. It’s just what happens when these mega companies get involved.

can you admit that us as gamers have very different criteria as to what makes a game good? and it isnt based on sales numbers.

they care if it sells, we care that its enjoyable.

either way, im only 37 but im an old man yelling at the clouds about how they just dont make'em like they used to.
if they want to cater to whiny emo kids, and their developers are from that culture, then they will have a very hard time making any game good in my eyes.

d2 felt like the wild west, and d4 feels like a safe space, lol

Oh absolutely and I have different standards than other gamers too.

I’m 37 as well(Hince my handle). I play Diablo out of pure nostalgia and a sweet spot in my heart for the series. I mostly only play Isometric ARPGs similar to the Diablo style. So I’m definitely lenient on them.

Mostly what I look for is the ability to sit down and veg out while playing in a mindless grind. I also enjoy PvP.

Honestly I think they dropped the ball on D4 PvP. The zones and how it was designed to me is awesome. My issue is they never support it, spice it up. Once you are done grinding all the items it’s pointless.

But then again outside of D2 they really never cared about PvP. So I’m in the minority.

Blizz dropped the ball in alot of aspects with d4. and i really think d4 pvp will never be a priority nor will it ever be balanced given their structure for calculating damage.
