So can anyone tell me what the crack is with aspects?

I am aware there is a bug whereby if you salvage an ancestral with an aspect tier that isn't the natural maximum for non-ancestral, it will only upgrade beyond that with another ancestral, right.

But why did i find a 5/5 duelist neck today (+8 max ferocity) and it didn't upgrade my 4/5 to 5/5 in codex when i salvaged it??

Was this not an ancestral? The only thing playing in my mind is that maybe it was a maxxed out non ancestral, but that should not be able to max out at 8/8 ferocity.
Then I am wondering if a 4 roll on a neck could somehow be 8 due to game magic on a neck.

pretty sure you're dreaming. duelist is 5 ferocity. either game is bugged or you've mistaken that you salvaged a 5/5 duelist

Yes, but you get a 50% bonus on a neck and on my build planner it does show 8.

Maybe they accidentally tempered a regular they were using?

max aspects only come from Ga items, There is no bug with it that i know of other than taking forever to get perfect shit.

It was an ancestral yes, hence the 8 stacks



Necks get a 50% buff on aspects, 2H weapons get 100% buff. 7.5 rounds up to 8 stacks on neck.



Correct yes, but i heard that if you salvage like say a 1/21 aspect from an ancestral, you can't upgrade it even to 2/21 with a non-ancestral

Nothing explains why i didn't get my 5/5 duelist from an ancestral neck though, i'm fuming, puzzled and worried about salvaging if i find any more max roll aspects.

I've got most of mine through obol gambling and regular pits.

That's what i've been trying to do as well. I think the only aspect i've managed to get higher than 16/21 was from a single item from the den merchant. Everything else is 16/21 and i'm around 250 paragon, constantly running lots of pits, even trying to use the extra equipment opals for 17 legendaries a run, still getting nothing and when i did it didn't upgrade my 4/5 to 5/5.

As you can see, above 16/21 and 21/21 are possible.

update:

I got another 5/5 duelist last night and i was nervous to salvage.. But it worked and updated my codex to reflect this. I'm gonna assume it was just a bug or a freak incident as to why the original 5/5 i salvaged a few days ago didn't take.
Still in search of an interdiction higher than 9%/15%! 250 paragon and 15/21 aspect is wild.. my moonrise is 16/21, redirected is 16/21 - I can't find an upgrade no matter what i spam. Hordes, pit, with or without equipment boosting opal. So frustrating.
