You could turn in aether 1 by 1 at materials chest. So pretty much dont use the pet and leave as much aether on floor as possible and just walk back and forth - pick up 1 aether, open chest etc.
1 aether = 320 opals in T4
However this was extremely timeconsuming, did like 5 times back and forth and decided to drop all remaining at once
